Do It Yourself With a Portable Air Compressor

When you’re a do-it-yourself guy like I am, a portable air compressor is really a clear necessity.  After I began doing projects, a lot of the tools I aquired were cordless or cord connected pneumatically-driven tools.

Several years back I got myself my first small compressor and among the first projects I performed with it was constructing a new gate.  I put to use a nail gun coupled to the processor and I was sold.

When it was time for the holidays or birthdays came around, the better half didn’t find it difficult in deciding on a present.  Air tools were exactly what I desired.

I soon realized that doing the task easier wasn’t the sole reason for relying on air tools.  After choosing my first portable air compressor(which didn’t break my budget incidentally), I discovered I was saving cash.

Air powered tools are likely to be significantly less expensive than corded or cordless tools.  They do not employ a motor and contain less working parts.

These pneumatic tools also go longer for the reason that they don’t possess a powerplant having a limited life.  They receive their energy from the larger motor of my air compressor.

Another huge advantage of lacking an engine is they’re easier on your body, particularly the arms.  This is because they weigh less without having a motor.  This creates a serious difference especially when it’s an in depth job that’s going to take quite some time to accomplish.  I’m sure we’ve all experienced arm and neck pain after running a tool that didn’t appear to be that heavy several hours earlier.

Pneumatic air tools don’t possess a little motor such as the corded and uncorded tools.  Because of this, they’re running off the large motor from your compressor.  The most apparent advantage here will be that as opposed to having a small amount of power coming from a small motor, your small light air tools convey more torque and big time RPM’s when compared to electric tools.

When you’re needing to change tools while carrying out a project it’s really easy with air compressor couplings.  Another advantage is having the capability to inflate items throughout the house.  If you have kids, you will find how this could make you an immediate hero.

When I bought my first portable air compressor, I got myself a few tools which i made use of a great deal.  As the years have gone by I’ve added tools and recently purchased a brand new compressor.  There isn’t any doubt that working with air tools through an air compressor makes work easier, more effective and quicker.

I recently had to replace my portable air compressor.  I did a lot of research before buying and customer ratings were a big part of my decision.  I’m very happy with the choice I made and wrote a review of my air compressor, the Makita mac700.

My name is Jerry Patterson.  I’ve always been fascinated by and loved working with tools.  I recently bought an air compressor and performed some serious research before making my purchase.

I decided to create this site and dedicate it to air powered tools and to rate the best nailers, impact wrenches, kits and compressors.  I know the investigations I’ve done will help you in your buying decision.

I’m married and live in the mountains of Northern California where I love to fish and work in my shop.

Air Tool Bargains Online & unbeatable sales

Hi my name is Wayne, and I have had a lot of experience with the air tool industry, and in my experiences as working as an air tool repair man for the past 10 years I can only recommend the tools I have worked on, which very from all different types of tools, for example Snap-On, koken, Gyson, shinanio, Ingersoll-Rand, uryu, toku, just to list a few.

They all have there bad points, and they also have there good points just to get me started I would recommend to shop at this site for all your air tool supplies needs,  it has top quality equipment and it has just about everything you need to get stared in the tooling industry, it has a good variety of tools at real good bargain  prices http://www.airtoolbargainsonline.com/home.html

I particular like there Ingersoll-Rand tools that have to offer and they are nearly at there cost price not to sure they are making to much money out of the sales but hey ill take it if the money goes back into my pocket, so if you are a young person looking to buy tools you carnet go passed this tool i am very impressed with it’s performance, price and parts availability which is very important.

Out of choice i like the Ingersoll-Rand 1/2 2131 and the 3/4 2141 it is a very robust tool and it will take a hammering, when you either use it in the industrial field or the auto industry it is a very multi purpose tool either for the trady or just the handy repair man very well priced.

My 2nd choose would be snap on, needless to say it has it’s pro’s and cons but if you live in Australia where i live parts from snap on are hard to come by you have to wait for 10 to 12 weeks to get anything, the customer support is very slack indeed and if you haven’t got a distributor in your area well that’s just to bad because snap on in the states wont help out they always tell you to go to the distributor and you carnet deal direct with snap on themselves, if any one out there no’s of a way around this your input will be very match appreciated in deed.

I don’t like the new snap on 3/4″ impact gun due to them failing all the time due to the rotor seizing up and not hammering to it’s full capacity i have seen a few of these guns returned back to the distributor and repaired under warranty, but then you got the down time of the gun getting repaired I can take up to 4-6 months to gut the repaired gun back in my opinion this is not good because you buy this type of tool to use not to sit in the repair shop.

These are just some of my experiences with working with air tools and hope this helps anyone out that needs a little help with deciding what tool to use and where to shop, if you are looking for a bargain go to http://www.airtoolbargainsonline.com/ and they will look after you in price and info. Thanks for reading if you have any questions do not hastate to ask the writer.

Choosing the correct pneumatic tool

Selecting the correct pneumatic tool for a task enhances productivity greatly, improves quality control, and increases profits, reports Bellambie Mining and Industrial marketing manager Dudley Ward.

“To ensure optimum performance and extended operating life of pneumatic tools, proper selection, installation, use and regular maintenance is critical,” adds Ward.

Correct lubrication is one of the most important elements in the economic operation and maintenance of air tools.

To avoid tool failure, devices should be lubricated daily through the air inlet of multivane air motors and air hammers, or through air-line filters and lubricators.

Optimum pneumatic-tool performance also depends on a supply of clean, dry air at the correct pressure; while the tool is running, lower air pressure is recommended for screwdrivers.

Although a moisture trap and line filter effectively eliminate moisture and grit particles from the air, a compressor of adequate capacity and full-size air-supply lines are necessary to obtain optimum performance from pneumatic tools.

Suitable hose and fittings are also important in order to avoid air and pressure loss, and to facilitate speedy coupling and changing of air tools.

Sapco, which forms part of Bellambie Mining and Industrial’s automotive division, has been the sole distributor of Uryu pneumatic tools in Southern Africa for the past 20 years.

The tools, including bolt and nut setters, screwdrivers, abrasive tools, drills and tappers, as well as percussion tools and accessories, are available nationally from its outlets, which also offer a technical advisory and back-up service.

This range is assembled in Japan with precision-machined components, surpassing world-class standards.

Bellambie has introduced a new Uryu torque-measuring system to the market, designed to measure precisely the dynamic torque of oil-pulse and stall-type tools.

These UMS transducers, which are ideal for use in quality-control areas and workshop test facilities, consist of non-contact, magnetostrictive rotating transducers and a torque auditor, which provides automatic data storage and analysis of up to 1 000 readings.

To create a positive magnetostrictive effect when the transducer is excited under a load, grooves in two regions of the anvil surface are provided at about 45.

Part of Bellambie Mining & Industrial’s automotive division, Sapco, has extended its range of pneumatic tools to include the new Alpha series, which is the fifth generation in Uryu’s range of oil-pulse mechanism assembly tools.

The Alpha series has a nine-blade double-chamber air motor which produces a 50% higher power-to-weight ratio than tools of the same physical size, which use a conventional single-chamber air motor, explains Bellambie marketing manager Dudley Ward.

The range offers free speeds of between 3 100 r/min and 5 500 r/min, with minimal power ripple.

The double-blade pulse mechanism enables tools to cope efficiently with various tightening tasks, and to easily manage soft and hard joint conditions.

Bolt seating is efficiently performed, and torque spike on hard-joint applications, caused by spinning of the anvil, is reduced to a minimum.

Benefits during operation include low noise, reduced vibration and virtually no torque reaction.

Average air consumption is between 0,25 m3/min and 0,7 m3/min, depending on the model used, and efficient motor power provides optimum cycle time for different joint conditions.

This pneumatic tool has an advanced ergonomic design – a single hand-operation reverse lever enables easy forward/reverse movement, and an anti-vibration handle jacket provides perfect palm-fitting for the operator, enhancing comfort and safety.
